As bellow, pronunciation of left side is KAN,right side is JI.
KANJI has a lot of meanings as it is in a word.
KAN(漢) means "Chinese".
JI(字) means "character".
KAN(漢) also has meaning Han dynasty in china.
*From Wiki is below,
The Han dynasty (Chinese:漢朝; pinyin: Hàn cháo) was the second imperial dynasty of China, preceded by the Qin dynasty (221–207 BC) and succeeded by the Three Kingdoms period (220–280 AD).
Any way that is typical.
As Japanese POP culture,
MANGA or comic, KAN(漢) is also sounded "OTOKO" , meant "men".
Men in Japanese is OTOKO(男) not KAN(漢) now.
OTOKO(漢) is a sort of ideal man (KANJI doesn't have plural form).
And OTOKO(漢) is cool and possessed of a strong sense of duty man.
Like Ken Watanabe in movie "Last SAMURAI".
Or Lord Yupa in Miuazaki animation "Nausicaa of the valley of the wind ".
I will introduce KANJI as possible.
bye.
